RECLAIMED WOOD

All materials at Quinta Filippa are chosen with purpose, guided by values that go beyond appearance. As the indoor yoga room begins to take shape, one element draws the eye immediately: the ceiling.

The beams, made from reclaimed wood, bring warmth and character to the space. By reusing materials, we give them a new life and allow the past to remain present within the Quinta.

For those who look closely, the history of these beams reveals itself. The numbers still marked on the wood tell their story. Once used as telecommunications poles, they carried technical references that supported the maintenance of communication networks. Wood that once connected people across distances now continues that role at Quinta Filippa, creating a place where people come together, share time, and feel at home.

Tiles Restaurant Quinta Filippa Portugal

DETAILS FROM THE KITCHEN WALL

The tiles live on the walls of our open kitchen as a meaningful presence. They were imagined as a discreet backdrop, accompanying the gestures of cooking and the moments shared around the table. For us, spaces where food is prepared and shared matter deeply, and these tiles contribute to that atmosphere.

Their installation followed a slow and careful process. Each tile was cut to measure and placed by hand, one by one. In this way, piece by piece, the Quinta continues to take shape. Even as the kitchen evolves, the tiles already bring the room to life, especially as the afternoon light moves across their surface.

Portuguese tiles are an important part of the country’s identity. Introduced in the 15th century by the Moors, they became a defining element of Portuguese art and architecture. At Quinta Filippa, we carry this heritage forward in a simple and contemporary way, honouring the past while shaping our own path.
