THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME

Quinta Filippa is named after Mike’s eldest daughter. A gesture that reflects a deeply personal connection to the project and the years that shaped it.

Born in 2011, Filippa has grown up alongside the Quinta. From the early days, she returned here often, spending time on the land, walking it with her father, and witnessing its transformation over time. What began as a simple house gradually evolved, and she was there through each step of that process.

Naming the Quinta after her became a way to mark that presence. A gesture, and a way of passing on family heritage.

At the same time, the name carries a wider meaning. It echoes Queen Philippa of Portugal, known for her vision, her role in shaping culture, and her ability to build lasting connections. Her story reflects strength, clarity, and a sense of direction.

These two references come together in what Quinta Filippa represents today. A place shaped over time, where personal history and a broader cultural heritage meet.

More than anything, it is a place meant to be shared. A place where time is experienced differently, where connections are created, and where each person can find their own rhythm.
